Clan Description and Procedures

from Anatarion on 02/18/2015 06:59 AM

This page contains information on our Clan's Purpose, Structure, Roles and Responsibilities, Consequences of rule breaking, Clan Avatars, Clan Chat, Disputes, Admin+ meetings, Facebook/Wiki/Website.

Purpose
As stated in our Clan page, we are a friendly, Aussie based clan. We offer a tier 7 citadel, regular events and a relaxed attitude. No need to cap, although this is encouraged. When you cap, you will be promoted one level, up to General rank. Minimum level to join is 1,500. This clan is about friendship and respect.
Structure
When you first join us, your rank will be Recruit. Upon capping, you will rank up through Corporal, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, to General: the highest non-admin rank. Getting an Admin+ rank will be dependent on how helpful/nice/involved you are, subject to approval from the Clan Leader.
From General, the ranks are: Admin, Organizer, Coordinator, Overseer, Deputy Owner, Owner (the clan leader).
If you wish to rise up through the ranks, the very best thing you can do is to cap (which will advance you one rank) and to be nice, involved and helpful. This will get you noticed, in a good way.
Roles and Responsibilities
Recruit to General: nice and simple: enjoy the game and be nice to other members of the clan. You do not have to attend events or cap or do anything unless you want do, although both are encouraged.
Admin+: all Admin+ people have their roles because of their contribution to the clan, so continued involvement in the clan is required to maintain their rank. There are no honorary roles here. Admin+ should be capping regularly, participating in clan events, being on Clan Chat. Any Admin+ who is "invisible" to clan members is not contributing to the clan, and will, subject to the Owner's approval, be demoted to General. Admin+ have specific responsibilities and authority (see below).
Specific Admin+ roles:
All admin+ should at least be placing a vex whenever they can, if not actively recruiting. We all love this clan...why not promote it!
All admin+ should be supporting their fellow admin by attending events, broadcasting event notifications for each other etc
Admin – admin is solely an avatar warden rank. admin should be the ones who take out the ava as much as they can
Organizer – organizes clan events, post on forums/fb all events, attendance and rewards, if any.
Coordinator – coordinates organisers so as to offer the clan the largest variety of events we can, including, but not limited to, pvm events, skilling events, minigames, cbt and skilling challenges, organises clan events, post on forums/fb all events, attendance and rewards, if any, has authority to assign the ava and/or offer prizes (from the clan coffers) for events or attendance at events, subject to approval from the leader.
Overseer – motivational role, keeps an eye on Admins, Organizers and Coodinator, making sure that they are performing their duties in the best interests of the clan, handles the promotions/demotions as required in the performance of this role, subject to approval from the leader.
Deputy Owner – help coordinate and facilitate the running of the clan in general..have the authority to act on my behalf in any decision in my absence, contributes to clan coffers on a regular basis, needs to be available and willing to listen to a sometimes neurotic clan leader and help with new ideas and be a motivating force to keep moving the clan forward.
Owner – the boss. The final decider on all issues which affect the clan.
Kick/Ban of clan member
Any Admin+ has the authority to kick or ban a member. If this is done, the Admin+ will post a brief message on the clan Facebook page, giving the name of the member who was actioned, and why this action was taken. Decisions made to ban or kick can be reversed by the Clan Leader only. Abuse of this responsibility by an Admin+ is subject to action by the Clan Leader. Kicking/banning should be the last resort after all avenues have been taken to resolve the situation.
Clan Avatars
Since we have a tier 7 citadel (the highest), we have the luxury of 3 avatars. Use of an avatar is restricted to members ranked Admin+. Under no circumstances is a member who is normally ranked below Admin to have access to an avatar. Admin+ who get an ava should call out which world they are on through Clan Chat.
Clan Chat
This is the main means of communication between members, and is available to all members. All members must respect the fact that what they say in CC is viewable to all, regardless of their age, sex, ethnicity etc. You are responsible for what you say in CC – no one is forcing you to say anything. Abusive behaviour may lead to your being banned from the clan. Admin+ will use their emotional intelligence when deciding to discipline someone for abuse: maybe the abuser has just had a d/c and lost their stuff or something else terrible has happened in the game – this happens to all of us sometimes. Admin+ should try to calm the person down, talk to them, try to lower the tone, then a warning (if needed), followed by a mute (but only if nothing else has worked). The need to discipline someone should be a very rare occurrence, unless the offender is an obvious troll.
Disputes
Inevitably there will occasionally be disputes between members. The best way to sort this out is to talk it over between the parties involved. Don't do this on CC – take it to PM (private message), or the clan leaders fc if more than one person is involved. Having abusive talk on CC does nothing positive for the clan, ever. If a dispute can't be resolved, and involves the clan in some way, then make your views known to the Clan Leader. They will decide what, if any, action is required.
Admin+ meetings
The Clan Leader will call a meeting for Admin+ people on a regular basis to get feedback and discuss issues. Any issues to be raised by Admin+ at such meetings should be communicated to the Clan Leader beforehand, so that an agenda can be created.
Facebook/Wiki/Website
The clan has a FB page, a wiki and a website which you are currently on; all clan members should be encouraged to actively participate in. This is the only reliable means of communicating with all members, given that members live in many different countries with different time zones. Anyone abusing this privilege can easily be kicked. Clannies do not have to use a personal fb account and if anything, a runescape-specfic one would be encouraged. Rules online are the same in clan chat, be respectful.

Caution, mistake in progress
If the world hates you, remember it hated me first.

May the odds be with you, and the force ever in your favour.
Battle not with monsters, lest ye become a monster, and if you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.
